Welcome to the As You Think blog! My name is Kevin Sherman. I live in Conroe, Texas with my wife of nearly 35 years, Becky. Our life together has been an amazing journey that just gets better by the day. I also have four sons who are as different and unique as the seasons, two of the most beautiful and gifted daughters-in-law a dad could ask for, and one precious, perfect granddaughter.

I was raised on the church pew. My mother took me to church from the time I was born until I was old enough to drive myself there. At the age of nine I made a decision to follow Christ. Well, actually I just didn’t want to go to hell! In a nutshell, that was my understanding of the Gospel. I have since come to understand that Jesus came to give us life. Abundant life. An overflowing with joy kind of life. Going to heaven is just icing on the cake.

Maybe you’re like I was, just trying hard not to sin and waiting for heaven. I struggled for most of my life with fear, anxiety, anger, and very little joy. I finally came to the place where I’d had enough. I made a decision to change my mind. It changed my life! The very fact that I’m writing this blog is just one proof. I may be a late bloomer, but I am blooming! Messed-up thinking wouldn’t allow me to do something like this before.

If you can relate to my journey, then this blog is for you. I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to share these truths with my local church, and now doors are opening for me to share it in other places too. This blog is just one more way.

I post a new blog every Thursday. In this blog I’m going to be real and honest with you. I might even kill a few of your sacred cows. Quite a few of my own have gone to the slaughter house! Just a couple of years ago, I wouldn’t have started a blog like this. After all, what would you think? I can do it now, because where there was once fear, there is now perfect love. My hope is that you too can experience the freedom that I know.
